Overview

The Poonhill Yoga Trek is a unique blend of trekking, yoga, meditation, and Himalayan nature experience in the Annapurna Region. This journey combines the famous Ghorepani–Poon Hill trek with daily yoga practice to enhance physical strength, mental clarity, and spiritual awareness.

This trek is suitable for beginners to intermediate trekkers, offering breathtaking views of mountains like:

  • Annapurna I (8091 m) – the world’s 10th highest peak

  • Dhaulagiri (8167 m) – the world’s 7th highest peak

  • Hiunchuli (6441 m)

  • Machhapuchhre / Fishtail (6993 m) – considered sacred to Lord Shiva and strictly forbidden to climb to preserve its sanctity

Itinerary Details
Day 01
  • Arrival in Pokhara, transfer to hotel or yoga retreat

  • Welcome drink

  • Evening yoga & meditation

Day 02: Pokhara (900 m) to Ulleri (2050 m)
  • Drive from Pokhara to Birethanti (1–1.5 hr)

  • Trek distance: 9–11 km

  • Difficulty: Moderate (due to steep stairs)

  • Duration: 4–6 hours

Trail details:

  • Well-built trail surrounded by forests and waterfalls

  • Stunning views of the valley below

  • Pass through the traditional Magar village

  • Stone-paved paths and slate-roof houses are major attractions

  • Accommodation in a guest house

  • Evening: gentle stretching/relaxation

  • Dinner and rest

Day 03: Ulleri (2050 m) to Ghorepani (2850 m)
  • Trek distance: 8–10 km

  • Duration: 4–5 hours

  • Difficulty: Moderate (steady uphill climb)

Trail details:

  • Begins with stone steps and a gradual uphill climb

  • Pass through Banthanti and Nangethanti (good rest stops)

  • Walk inside dense rhododendron and oak forests

  • Rhododendrons bloom in spring (March–May)

  • Scenic mountain atmosphere near Ghorepani
